Event: Worcestershire Remembers at The Guildhall, Saturday 4 August

On 17, Jul 2018 | In Events | By Nicola Gauld

Over the past 4 years, people across Worcestershire have been studying the role that the county and its people played in the First World War.

We would like to invite organisations to bring displays and material, and there is no cost to attend.  We have over 20 organisations joining us including the Kidderminster Local History Group, Remember the Fallen and the University of Worcester and we would like as many organisations as possible to attend to give a broad representation of the activities and events that have taken place in Worcestershire over the commemorative period.

This event forms part of  event and activities that Worcestershire World War 100 is using to mark the Hundred Days Offensive, the final period of the First World War, during which the Allies launched a series of offensives against the Central Powers on the Western Front from 8 August to 11 November 1918, beginning with the Battle of Amiens. The offensive essentially pushed the Germans out of France, forcing them to retreat beyond the Hindenburg Line, and was followed by an armistice.

The closing date for submission for exhibitors is 27 July.

Entrance to the event is free to visitors.

Please contact Gillian Roberts, Project Officer for Worcestershire World War 100,  with any queries or to submit an entry: groberts@worcestershire.gov.uk
