Birmingham City Council Commemorative Events

Birmingham City Council has announced details of the city’s First and Second World War commemorative events for 2015.

The Battle of Gallipoli will be commemorated on April 25th, St George’s Day, at an event in the city’s Centenary Square from 11am to 5.30pm. VE Day will be celebrated on May 8th from 12-7pm in the city’s Centenary Square.

On June 6th, as part of the Lord Mayor’s Show, 10 local Victoria Cross winners will be commemorated by the unveiling of special paving slabs at the Hall of Memory.

On November 21st a plaque to commemorate the Birmingham Pals will be unveiled at the Hall of Memory.
