Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Heaton. Commandant, Harborne Hall Auxiliary Hospital, Harborne, Birmingham.

Mrs. Heaton has been Commandant of the Auxiliary Hospital which is now located Harborne Hall, since November, 1914. At the outbreak of the war she was Commandant of Worcester 58 Voluntary Aid Detachment of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and with this detachment opened at Hill Crest the first St. John Hospital in Birmingham. It was maintained at Hill Crest from November 1914, until January, 1916, when the hospital was transferred to Harborne Hall. At Hill Crest the detachment began with 25 beds, and the hospital now provides 240.
