MISSIONARY ENTERPRISE

BISHOP OF LICHFIELD AND THE GREAT NEED

Opening the Missionary Exhibition at Birmingham Town Hall, this afternoon, the Bishop of Lichfield said the great need was to make it clear that their religion was not a tame, mild and un-enterprising business in which they looked out for their own security. They wanted to live as though they believed it was a splendid venture calling for all those fine qualities which they rejoiced to find in our soldiers and sailors, and among men and women at home besides. If only they could bring home to people the truths of missionary work and get them to realise what it was doing, that exhibition would not have been in vain.

Canon Willink (Rector of Birmingham) said over 1,000 adults and 300 children visited the exhibition yesterday, while 1,000 children attended this morning. So far the financial results were satisfactory.
