MIDLAND MEN RECEIVE THEIR ACCOLADES FROM THE KING

The King held an investiture at Buckingham Palace today, when he bestowed some 256 decorations. A number of the gentlemen who figured in the list of knighthoods on the occasion of the King’s birthday attended and received the accolade.

Amongst them were Mr. Alfred Robbins, London Editor of the “Birmingham Daily Post,” Mr Charles W. Starmer, managing director of the “Birmingham Gazette,” Mr. Ebenezer Parkes, M.P. for Central Birmingham, and Professor W. J. Ashley, of the Birmingham University.
