GIFTS TO HOSPITALS

ERDINGTON MAN’S BEQUESTS TO BIRMINGHAM

Local hospitals and charitable institutions benefit considerably by the will of the late Mr. Richard Holder Luckett, of Glenmaye, Hutton-hill, Erdington, Birmingham, which has just been proved. Mr. Luckett, who died on 22 March, 1917, was a commercial traveller, and left estate valued at £18,162. After bequeathing various legacies to relatives and friends, he left varying amounts to the following institutions:—West Bromwich Hospital, £500; West Bromwich District Nursing Association, the Birmingham General Hospital, the Queen’s Hospital, the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital, £200 each; the Birmingham and Midland Skin Hospital, £100; the Commercial Travellers’ Schools at Pinner, £250; the Commercial Travellers’ Benefit Association, £250; the Middlemore Homes, £150. The considerable residue was to divided equally amongst the following:— The Royal Institution for the Deaf and Dumb, Birmingham; the Birmingham Royal Institution for the Blind; the Birmingham and Midland Free Hospital for Sick Children; Dr. Barnardo’s Homes; the Birmingham Blue Coat School; and the Royal Orphanage, Wolverhampton.
