SOLDIER’S FUNERAL IN BIRMINGHAM.

With military honours Private John Warner, who had served with the Worcesters in France for 21 months, was buried at Icknield-street Cemetery, Birmingham, to-day. The departure of the cortege from 1 back 14 Prescott-street, where his parents reside, was witnessed by a large crowd. He was a single man, and only 21 years of age. He was badly wounded, and for over three months was in hospital at Sheffield, and later transferred to the 1st Southern Hospital at Bournbrook, where he died on Wednesday last. He was one of a patriotic family. Three brothers are serving in France, another, who had served for five years in India, was a prisoner in Germany, but recently was exchanged, and the fifth joins the colours in a few days.
