BIRMINGHAM JOURNALIST KILLED.

News was received by his wife yesterday, at 45, Elm Road, Bournville, of the death in action of Private R. H. Crabtree who before joining the Middlesex Regiment was on the reporting staff of the “Birmingham Gazette,” and previously had done journalistic work at Burton-on-Trent and Chatham. His association with Birmingham journalism extended over ten years. He was a capable and hardworking journalist, with a bright spirit and a frank and generous disposition, and his death at the early age of 33 will be sincerely regretted by a large circle of friends.
