Event: Community Development Day

On 10, Aug 2016 | In Events | By Nicola Gauld

Minding Black Histories in War Times, in partnership with the Voices of War & Peace WW1 Engagement Centre, and with the African Community Heritage Hub, is a new project that aims to map out and contact different groups working on this area, to learn about each other’s work, reflect on the challenges we’ve all been facing, and share experiences and success stories.

There are an encouraging number of groups and individuals working to uncover and share hidden histories of black service during WW1. To that end, we invite you to a ‘Community Development Day’ on Friday 30 September 2016 that will focus on practice and impact. We intend this day to be a chance to have a sustained conversation around some of the questions and challenges about practice, public engagement, and impact, especially in terms of the design and delivery of co-produced/community-led research projects.

Community Development Day will be held at BCU, Parkside Building room P249, Cardigan St, Birmingham B4 7RJ, 10am-3pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We will circulate an agenda as we get closer to date. Please RSVP on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/minding-black-histories-community-development-day-tickets-26802097796
